PROBLEM SOLUTIONS, RELEVANT INFROMATION AND REFERENCES - INITIATIVE, EFFORT FOR SELF-LEARNING

 1. Problem solutions, relevant information, and references

       The government can play a role in overcoming social media issues. This is because the government has the financial resources to implement programs to address social media problems among teenagers. In addition, the government also has the power to enact laws to address social media problems. Government can also conduct various campaigns to address social media problems on government - owned television and radio stations. I also include some articles that the government has done about this issues.

       In addition, parents should monitor what their children are up to in their social media. Social media exposes teenagers to various problems including cyberbullying, sexting and most importantly can also bring them into contact with online predators. According to Patrick (2021), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) disclosed that there are more than 500 000 online predators active daily in multiple online platforms and 89% of the victims are revealed to be contacted through chat rooms and instant messaging of social media accounts. Specifically, over 50% of grooming and online predators victims are between the ages of 12 to 15 years old (Child Crime Prevention & Safety Center, 2020). These reasons are consequential in highlighting the urgent need why parents should keep a beady eye on their children’s activities in social media. Moreover, with the recent technology advancement, parental control tools are introduced and applicable in each social media platform which can make the monitoring activity easier and thorough. 

        Furthermore, parents should describe to teens what isn't acceptable. Encourage kids not to gossip, spread rumors, bully, or harm someone's reputation, whether online or off. Discuss what is proper and safe to publish on social media with teens. Experts believe that kids who post information on social media are at danger of disclosing intimate images or highly personal stories due to their impulsive natures.

        People can also improve their skills in business or in communication by using twitter and Youtube. Today, society is focused on Instagram, Whatsapp and even Facebook. This is an opportunity for teenagers to use platforms that are less used by others such as twitter and also Youtube as a platform for them to venture into business, master their conversation and also train them to be a confident person.

        Apart from that, the teenagers need to be disciplined by themselves on the usage of social media. They must have scheduled their time to use social media. Social media is not their life. They can do more and spend their time in a useful way rather than just browsing their phone and not getting any benefit or improvement. They need to consider joining activities that can improve their skills and mindset. When they are giving priorities to these type of activities and keep themselves busy on that can actually help them to get out from social media addiction.

       One of the things that also we can do to improve this problem is organizing social media awareness campaigns in schools. The aim of this campaign is to teach the teenagers how to use social media wisely and efficiently in building relationships. It is crucial to teach these things from a younger age as social media has blurred the lines between public and private life. It is therefore very important for teenagers to understand what is and what is not acceptable to post on social media, their healthy boundaries on social media and healthy relationships on social media. It is undeniable  that school plays a significant role in shaping social skills among teenagers.

         From all the solutions, we have agreed that the problems that occur in social media need to be solved because social media is very beneficial to teenagers. This is because social media helps them in their learning and daily life. Therefore, we need to eradicate the symptoms of social media abuse immediately. Otherwise, we will miss the various opportunities available on social media.

2. Initiative, effort for self-learning 

        First of all, we got together to brainstorm relevant information and find related references. This group discussion is to guide all the team members to find the ideas or solve the problem for our group. The group discussion is conducted through WhatsApp group and sometimes google meet is also equipped for more effective two-way communication. Hence we manage to obtain sufficient ideas to finish the task given on time. 

        In addition, tasks have been distributed to all group members. The distribution task is to make sure a fair work distribution to make sure that every team member works with the best possible efficiency. Muhammad is the team leader responsible to distribute tasks to other group members based on popular consent. The process of task distribution consists of the selection, presentation, dispatching, authorization, and outsourcing. Thus, all team members had given good cooperation to the assigned task. 

        Apart from this, all group members support each other to complete the tasks they face. The group members are also very active in giving their thoughts and opinions on the issue. Whenever we find other people’s mistakes, we will also correct others’ mistakes. Of course, when we agree with a person’s ideas, we will also give thanks because he or she has given us the right direction in case we go the wrong way.

          Lastly, we also had meetings with all members so that every info can be conveyed well. The meetings we do are to discuss the topic to be chosen, identify problems and also analyze the topic. In this way, every work process can be carried out well because every member understands what to do. These meetings are also to make our members can communicate with each other because in teamwork ,communicate are very important to make  easily every work process  

           In conclusion, we find that we can be an amazing team and we believe that we  can face more responsibilities and challenges together. We can say that communication is the key that made us travel along this path and also the respect we have for each other's opinion let us finish the assigned tasks on time perfectly.
